Supporting Women Since 1883. DONATE TODAY.

Dear Friend of The Woman’s Exchange,

Founded in 1883, by women for women, The Woman’s Exchange of St. Louis has remained steadfast in our mission for over 140 years—empowering individuals, particularly women, refugees, and artisans to build financially secure and productive lives.

This past year, your generosity has allowed us to not only provide vital resources and opportunities to those we serve, but also give our store a much-needed refresh—ensuring it remains a welcoming place for the community and the heart of our mission in action.

Who We Serve

  • Living Artist: We provide materials at cost, a retail marketplace, and inventory management—empowering artisans to earn a livable income. Over 55 artisans produced 9,057 items for The Exchange in 2024.

  • Early Entrepreneurs: Our commercial-grade kitchen, storefront access, and training programs allow female entrepreneurs to launch and grow their food businesses. In the past year, one of our artisans, Clank’s Cookies, was acquired after gaining momentum at The Exchange.

  • Refugees & Immigrants: Our Immigrant Training Program offers hands-on job training, translation, transportation assistance, and social support. In 2024, we supported 10 individuals on their path to stability and independence.

Looking Ahead

As one of the oldest nonprofits in St. Louis, The Woman’s Exchange is proud to carry forward its legacy of service—empowering individuals to build brighter, more secure futures. But we cannot do this work alone.

This year, one of our top priorities is restoring the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that powers our beloved Tea Room and carry-out services. To fully replace what’s needed, we must raise an additional $56,000. This upgrade is essential—not just for daily operations, but for sustaining the jobs of our employees and continuing to serve the communities that rely on us.

Every gift—no matter the size—helps provide the training, resources, and support that can truly transform a life. Please consider making a gift today. Together, we can uplift more lives, strengthen our community, and carry our mission forward for generations to come.

Kindly,

Allie Cohn
