Artisan Made Goods
The Woman's Exchange provides a venue for the sale of heirloom-quality clothing and beautiful decorative items handmade by our artisans (formerly known as consignors.) They receive a high margin of the selling price bringing financial independence and peace of mind.
Our artisans come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some are working with us as a primary source of income. Some are launching their careers and able to use our partnership as a springboard to other business opportunities.

Our Artisans Include:
A woman whose life changed drastically when she moved in with her parents to be their primary caregiver. Keeping up with their medical appointments made it difficult to work outside of the home. She became an artisan at the Exchange so she could earn an income while caring for her parents.
A talented seamstress whose embroidery became her primary source of income after a divorce left her without child support. The Exchange assisted with the purchase of a sewing machine over 30 years ago and she is still one of our most successful artisans!
A refugee who came to the U.S. with her children after enduring a concentration camp in Afghanistan. Catholic Charities referred her to our program when they noticed her ability to sew. For the past 15 years, she has supported her family in her new country through her work at The Exchange.
A foster parent who ventured into knitting and crocheting for the children she and her husband welcomed into their home. After her husband’s death from cancer, she turned her focus to making handmade children’s sweaters and hats. Sewing for the Exchange has given her the flexibility of working from home while adjusting to life on her own.
